Airtel Speed වැඩි වෙන්නේ කොහොමද?

මේ දවස්වල ad එකක් යනවා Airtel එකෙන්, web sites Airtel servers වලම save කරන නිසා උන්ගේ internet speed එක අනිත් ISP වලට වඩා වේගවත් කියලා. මේ කියන දේ පැහැදිලි කරන්න පුලුවන්ද technically මේක කොහොමද වෙන්නේ කියලා?

well try my best to simplify for you

1. You know cache of web browser, 1st time you open a page (eg, EK thread) web browser it self save images and script (and lot more) inside your computer storage (a temporary files)......

2. Second time you open same thread you will realize it is faster than before.. right coz your computer already saved images and others (That mean EK server far far away from your location not need to send you same data)

3. concept of Proxy server is same as that they keep some PC's (servers with good storage capacity) in local Airtel premises, so think one user stream a video (or just browse some pages) before that came to user that 1. happens , if another user or you again need to use that resource (data) no need to download it from far away server, local proxy server will do it for you (only if it cache before)


so bottom line Airtel have proxy servers (lol but each and every ISP has it also)

well technically there are more but this is the smiplest way for you i guess

මුන් facebook එකේ data centers වල synchronized copy එකක් උන්ගේ servers වල තියාගන්නවද? එතකොට content updates handle කරන්නේ කොහොමද?

They have implemented cache servers in their network. What they say is they are faster than other mobile 3G networks. As they have less customer base this may be true. But definitely SLT, Dialog, Mobitel who has 4G networks are faster than them.

As I know SLT is the only operator who has direct Facebook cache and others have generic http cache.
