Tri Channel is there in Ci7 platform. Not using it again is unfair.

OK, Phenom II is great. But it might not have to performance crown.

But if the price is great, it will be my next rig. I mean, you can go for DDR2, AM2+ mobo (even AM3 boards will be cheaper than X58 me thinks!).

Both Ci7 and Phenom II OC to ~4GHz on good air cooling, very easily. Even the cheapest Ci7 does 4GHz.

It will definitely be the pricing that will make AMD shine. With this economic crisis, many people might not be able to afford X58's.

Oh I just noticed!!! Intel is using 3GB RAM and Phenom is using 4GB. Not a very fair benchmark

But remember one thing. I don't think AMD will even get close to Intel's performance in video editing and rendering. Ci7's HT will help it do more work. Not in games though.

So Memory size wont affect.....Even i7 using Tri channel.....
Im thinkin abt Phenom II X4 945 DDR3 AM3 one....

So AMD's cud Load games quickly than Intels no...?

Finally Phenom II has some juice.
But resolution for a cpu bench mark is too high.
1024*768 is better for cpu tests

No we can't come to that conclusion.
Phenom had higher mem bandwidth than Core 2 because of HT bus and IMC. Intel was relying on FSB.

I can't remember Ci7's, because I don't really look at one specific technological aspect, but the package as a whole, because that's what really matters!

I guess with GTX280, even 1600x1200 is CPU limited. These bastards really do 2560x1600 with 4X AA without much issue.

Well, the advantage Phenom II will have over Intel is the price, not the performance. Actually the priceerformance ratio.

But if you are going with an AM3 board and DDR3 RAM, that advantage will diminish. I can't say "to what point" because DDR3/AM3 benches aren't out, right?

I'm still not sure how it will compete against the proven and CHEAP C2Q's. You can grab a P45 board for $140, a Quad Core for $200, and 4GB RAM for around $50, and you are set with a very good gaming RIG.

If you want video encoding and rendering, still Ci7 will beat the crap out of Phenom II, me thinks. So spending even $200 over AMD rig wouldn't hurt there.

Got my hands on prices of Intel Core i7's . i7 920 cost AUD $475 AUD & i7 940 AUD cost $959 (1AUD = 76.57 LKR). Phenom II prices will be release in 2 weeks. After that we can compare which one is better on budged & Performance...
