Windows phone is smooth , clean interface and do has less functionality than Android. On Android less smooth but fuck load of functionality. So you decide

Dont measure with the numbers. Because Android has stopwatch like phones named smartphones. Hope you can remember the one etisalat and dialog gave earlier. So usually people don't speak about numbers when they speak about Android as a smartphone OS. Take Apple, Blackberry and Windows Phone they are smartphone OS from its beginning.

Basically Android is open source, being open source and they provide huge amount of services and applications
Android have some drawbacks as well but it made up for community and which developed through community
Windows,iOS or blackberry never ever give their sources to the community
I think in future only systems which likes android can survive
Best example is even Nokia is fed up with windows and willing to move with android

It's not only me who is saying these. These are worldwide accepted. I challenge if you can prove.

    Store Submission and Certification

So one has to admit that WP market is better based on the time and $ that it takes to get approval for the app?

    Integrated Development Environment

"But the developer experience is horrible compared to the Visual Studio."
    Really? Such as?
"of course Android has many plugins to install and make things easier but with Visual Studio all can be done without external plugins."
Whats wrong with external pluggins. Eclipse is made for pluggins that's the beauty of its architecture. Why php, java, guys so much prefer eclipse and nb? Isn't that a proof of the power of integration between pluggins and the IDE?
I have used both VS and eclipse and I can tell you that the IDE world has changed in the lights of IDE's like InteliJ and netbeans. By using varieties of eclipse pluggins, developing for Android has never been easier. Not to forget VS only supports Microso$t's limited platform apis. Other said IDEs have much more support extensions to different frameworks and platforms.

    Emulator

The android emulator takes only 10-15mins startup time on the initial startup only. That is something not even looked for when you are choosing one infrastructure over the other. I find that quite laughable.

    Designing

Android supports drag n drop. But if you are serious about developing dynamic UIs you should hand code them.
"Another painful thing is the need to design in to many screen resolutions in some situations." This is a obvious trade off between a limited device support vs rich extensive device support.

    Revenue

This is not entirely true either. The revenue do not solely dependent on the number of devices on the market. Its a battle between legitimate users and innovation and other marketing bullshit.

    Learning Effort

Every set of tools come with a learning curve. People tend to go for what they are most families with, in your case, you seem to be coming from a .net background so that's why wp development is comfortable and easier to you.

Store Submission and Certification: you have taken the wrong point to argue.

IDE: I have not use Intellij, but I have used Netbeans.

Emulator: You only need 2 minutes to make a Noodles for dinner as advertisements say. lets make it 5, you have drowned your own argument. 10-15 >> 5

Design: You have a good point. I agree to a higher extend on that but windows have Windows 8 for tablets and so on. Where the difference in programming very low.

Revenue: Compared with Android, WP devices are very low so I think I am correct on that. But with Portable class libraries, the effort you need to put on a million user platform like Windows 8 is very low. (Converting WP app to Windows 8 app)

Learning Effort: Talk about it. I am a Oracle Certified Java Developer(upgraded from Sun) and Sun Certified Web Component Developer. I still found WP easier than Android. :)

    So is this your point?
"Google Play is filled with apps that have malware due to lack of proper certification process"

Filled with malware huh? Show me any widely spread malware on play. Just one.

IDE: I have not use Intellij, but I have used Netbeans.

    Myth busted! Moving on...

Dude don't beat around the bush. Answer my question. How in the world a professional developer even consider a startup time of an Emulator decides the infrastructure you are supporting? In industry you test your code on a real device not on god damn emulators. Noodles? wtf? Are you a real developer?

I have all the listed certifications and more. It only took me 1 week to feel like I'm home with android.

Emulator: Its not all about the startup time. I addressed that since u have pointed that. U shud try the WP emulator. It has much support rather Android.

Irrelevant! I was referring to the official google app store(Play) not Chinese or Russian 3rd party ones. Again Show me any widely spread malware on play. Just one.

I wont give a single try. If 3rd party ones can have malware apps. Then Android is not safe. Isn't it? WP only allows company hub and XAP deployment for developer unlocked ones.
