For now it seems the only option is enrolling in a institute. Or else just refer the recommended texts and prepare a note but it takes lots of time.

Thanks for your valuable feedback.I did BCS 10 years ago all 3 levels. You will find it bit difficult to get a job in Sri Lanka in the beginning as not like other academic programs some local uni picco don't recognize it when hiring.
What do you currently have ? What's your present background?
Do it and then use it to get an academic qualification later on. Preferably a honors level degree.
I currently have zero paper qualifications but I have decent knowledge in this area I just have to polish it up in coming months.I did BCS 10 years ago all 3 levels. ඩිප්ලොමා වෙනකන් කරලා topup කරන්න nam diploma project complete karanna one. eka group project ekakda koheda.
Thanks for the infoI did BCS in 2014. Completed all 3 levels. There's not much coding. But if you have experience or some other certification like SCJP, it won't be an issue if you are trying for development jobs.
Plus point is BCS is the fastest route to reach Masters, if you do well you can finish all 3 levels + PGD project in less than 2 years.
It is UGC recognised, but local companies tend to degrade the qualification, mostly they are run by gov. graduates and they don't properly understand the qualification. Nevertheless, it is recognised worldwide (in Commonwealth countries), so you can apply for a job or masters.
I did take some lectures from Esoft, but most of the subjects were self-taught or kuppi-taught. And I enjoyed every second of learning. So for me personally it was a fun ride, never felt like learning towards a degree.
If you go for a top-up degree, you will get a BSc. title , but the concern is time and money.
But again you will have to renew your membership at BCS annually by paying them.
Everything really depends on what you really need and what you really like to do in future + your current situation.
If you need more info PM me.
