Damages to divorce is a separate issue and it is paid only to the innocent party of the divorce.

Can the male become the innocent party in the event of divorce and ask him a compensation for damages from the female?
Yes . A very famous female in SL paid a very large sum (do not guess - this is to prove point only) for male due to her infidelity as he asked for damages from her as well as her partner (who can be added as a party to divorce action). This is rare in Sri Lanka but happens. Most males do not want money from female they only want divorce. But in law there is no difference. Not only husband/wife but also other party involved divorce due to adultery is equally liable for damages. So be careful!!
If wife/husband is unable to find money for the case/litigation , can also make an application for cost of litigation as interim payment too. These are less utilized but there is no need to be so!! Can be important when two parties are financially unequal. (eg. if wife is uneducated or poor and husband is wealthy vis a vis)
