This country should have been developed couple of decades ago even though the war was there. But due to the political system, Unions, and Businessmen/ Thugs who helps politicians to go to the parliament will not allow this country to be developed. And also the stupid people who continuously vote the same political party rather than changing the vote. Also people do not afraid to break the law as the impact of punishments are comparatively in-considerable plus people know the law can be manipulated at any point in the the chain. This country is so corrupted as If you want to get this developed within next 10 years, you will have to wipe out about 98% of the politicians from this land.

i've been thinking about the hyped up property price in sri lanka for a while. sri lanka is a 3rd world country with a very weak currency. im wondering how come the land price is so high here in sri lanka ? is it due to over population or is it due to limited land ? an average sri lankan should make money until he become a grandfather to buy a decent property in sri lanka

solution for hyped up property price

country can make a law stating property owners cant sell properties beyond the official value. a valuation officer can check the property on site and decide the price of a property using an official algorithm this will discourage expat sri lankans acquiring multiple properties with their foreign made money leaving nothing for sri lankans living inside the country. i've seen many young couples in sri lanka struggling to settle down in their life. they deserve a house
