i have both machan... mata nam dekama same.. but mama nam wadi pririty ekak denne Canon walata... mama nam kiyanne canon 600D eka ganna kiyala.. but canon 550D eketh thiyenne 600D options ma thamai.. but 600D wala Display eka rotate karanna puluwan.. 550D wala eeka karanna ba.. 600D eka 10000k withara wadi.. a nisa 550D ekak ganna eka hodai

I'm using a Kiss X4 with 18-55mm, 55-250mm and a 50mm f/1.8(The cheapest lens after 18-55mm kit lens ) And I think they doing just fine. May be not good enough to do some professional stuff. But yes you can use it pretty hard. I own this camera for almost 2 years now. And my kit lenses are doing fine ... It's just the way you handle your camera I think.
You can check my flickr photo stream .. Have loads of pictures in my fb though ...

One thing, If you use some serious lenses you get much sharper pictures and some kick ass auto focusing
