    Ya machan.. I agreed. but the thing is my linux knowledge is 0..
    well you can hire someone (like me ;) ) to configure one for you. For a low traffic situation like yours, an old P4 with 512 memory is enough to work as the edge server.

    If my management agree to hire you..

    1. what is your cost?
    2. other thing is can i handle it myself without trouble afterwards?
    3. can i use same mail addresses?
    4. can i backup exchange mails for linux?

    2. yes, you can. there'll be a browser based control panel. However, unless you have a domain name change or IP change, there wont be anything to manage.
    3.Yes. There's no change in the email domain structure.

    What happens here is that the Linux mail server acts as the edge server and it simply filters the mail and pass it over to Exchange server for actual delivery to mailboxes.

    i've sent you a pm b4 seen the post.. that mean there is no changes to my current mail server.. new linux server is act as a hardware firewall..
