Rockpapershotgun is a good reviewing site. If you want another reputed site check out eurogamers or polygon or Destructoid reviews.
And btw PC gamer is good when it comes to Games. But they sometimes do hardware reviews which are hilariously bad. anyway that's not the point.
And who the hell said Dark Souls Prepare to die edition was DS2??
Dark Souls prepare to die edition is Dark Souls 1 with the Artorias of the Abyss DLC .It's Dark Souls 1.
Dark Souls 1 is what I'm talking about. Dark Souls 1 is what keeps the hype. I'm not talking about dark souls 2.
Of course Dark Souls 1 is the best. Check out my previous comments. Have I said anywhere that Dark Souls 2 was better than Dark Souls????
And it's not about the difficulty. It never is. The game is not that hard after you understand the mechanism.
I hated what they did for Dark Souls 2. They made it a moderate game. If you come after spending countless hours into Dark Souls 1 and then come for this you'll understand.
BUT the three expansions that came for Dark Souls 2...
1. The Crown Of The Sunken King
2. The Crown of The Ivory King
3. The Crown of The Old iron King
is the things that bring Dark Souls 2 to a certain standard. You haven't played that so you wouldn't know. With those three combined with the vanilla game... you get Scholar Of The First sin which is a much better game than vanilla DS2.
But still in ain't as brilliant as the ORIGINAL DARK SOULS.
You do know that by original dark Souls I meant Dark Souls 1( Dark Souls prepare to die edition which came to PC) right?
And you do know I have a little side project that I even advertise here right? So I've a countless number of games and I've played a lot. So I know what I'm talking about.
I never said Dark Souls 2 was "pure RPG". I said Dark Souls is Pure RPG element. That means it's got the things to define it as an RPG. There are lots of types of RPG's that differs from each other.
Somehow still you are making some baffling points and trying to quote somethings I did not say.
AND MIND YOU DARK SOULS IS NOT EVERYTHING ABOUT DIFFICULTY AND BOSS FIGHTS. IF IT WERE THEN IT'D NEVER BE MY FAVOURITE GAME.
I guess you just played dark souls 2 holding a huge shield and a huge weapon wearing the heaviest hardest armour and equipped by a sorcerer's staff casting all magic and shit from afar..
You can't enjoy the game like that man.
There are so many ways to build up your character. And the most important thing about Dark Souls is patience and chance creation. If you take a game like Assassin's Creed (for an example) take its' combat system for an instance. Is there anything for you to do other than that clicking the same button over and over again? It's super easy. Not so much thinking. No tactics. What's there other than beautiful movement?
But in Dark Souls you need patience and wait for the certain moment. Very tactical. Specially when battling human type enemies. And have you ever tried co-op or multiplayer? That part of the game is on another level. And the variety of weapons, the countering mechanism which is highly enjoyable, the backstabs.. those kind of things doesn't exist in another game. Dual wielding in power stance --- Man that was something special.
Anyway Dark Souls 2 was never the game Dark Souls was.
The original developer Hidetaka Miyazaki stepped out from the project to make Bloodborne.
But the three expansions really stepped up and somewhat filled the void.
Dark Souls 1 is the bomb! And it doesn't mean that I don't enjoy other games. But a lot of games doesn't give you that satisfaction as Dark Souls. There's a special beauty towards Dark Souls.
And I never said Dark Souls 3 "is the best game" of 2016. You seem to quote somethings I never said.
I said it'll "be one of the best."
But yeah I'm a fanboy of Dark Souls and also of The Witcher.
If you talk about difficulty then play witcher 2 in the hardest difficulty. It's really challenging. I didn't play witcher 3 (saving it until the the end of the exams. See how much of a fanboy of witcher I am).. but tried the few beginning moments in the hardest difficulty (the Death March as I remember) but still it ain't as hard as Witcher 2's combat.
And absolutely you don't need a controller for witcher 3. The mouse and keyboard is super fine. But try playing it with a controller. It's much more enjoyable. And even there I never said that playing with keyboard and mouse is bad. If you quote me then quote something I said man. Not some version of yours.
I don't know what they'll do to the keyboard controller setup. But when you get the hang of it's not that hard.
That is one of my friends Dark Souls 2 SotFS profile. He bought a freakin $600 monitor to game recently and what does he play? Dark Souls forever. Got a large steam account also with a lot of games. But the game he plays is dark souls. The guy is literaly insane! See how much hours he has put into those characters.. One build done entirely Solo and others co-oping and multiplaying. AND THE DUDE USES KEYBOARD AND MOUSE.
The game doesn't have a bad controller steup. it's a bit hard to understand. Yes I agree.
But after you do everything becomes much more easier.
They'll add something for the control setup in Dark Souls 3 or not but does that matter? You may not get the hang of it when you begin the game but after a while after getting the hang of it it stays with you doesn't it? You remember the keys for a certain type of action. You don't always log into the controller setup throughout the game to see the defined keys do you? If so then you have a bad memory.
Really enjoyed this conversation

Let it continue with your quotes from nowhere and your ... whatever.
And man please if you quote something said by me don't type an edited version created by you.
