planets get destroyed and created. once the time is right the birth will take place .that makes sense
but how can you say its himalaya or near to that area , its not even the same planet ,isnt it? this has always puzzled me

May be something to do with energy forms.Because previous buddhas attain nirvana at that place so the next one consiously choose to be reborn in the same place.But all the previous buddhas mentioned in texts are born in same exact area.Future maitreeya is predicted to be born in the same area too.

You see even gautama buddha visit the location where ruwanwelieya is now at because many buddhas before him visited the same place.May be something to do with an energy field which is favourable to discuss dhamma.

I'm not saying it should be himalaya.But after many kalpas it can be an island or something totaly different than now.If it is sea then buddhas will wait till some island pop up on that location which is favourable.

No it’s my analogy.I was referring to this.Those birth places are mentioned in earlier text to tripitaka.

is there anyway to confirm this from tipitaka ? after all its the Buddhas word.
if its not in tipitaka then there is a huge chance of it being fiction
