I want to buy a laptop and i have selected a HP Pavilion notebook. Is any one using this kind of a laptop?:confused:
Please give some comments on how its performance. If my selection is bad please give me some suggestions.

Why dont you go for HP Dv5 1104tx of HP Dv5 1102tx??

1104tx - 2.2 Core 2 Duo, 9600GT nVidia- Rs. 130,000
1102tx - 2.4 Core 2 Duo, 9600GT nVidia - Rs.155,000

Hi did not check those two models. Sure ill go through the spec and see. Thanks a lot. From where did you get the prices???

    hmmm well im getting a laptop in this August... its a Sony vaio,
    It is a FW series
    2.53GHz P8700 processor
    3 MB L2 cache
    4GB DDR2 Ram
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
    320GB(7200rpm) Hard
    cd / dvd writer
    16.4' XBRITE-ECO Display (1600*900) (damn I luv that screen 16:9 Aspect ratio fully viewable :) <3)
    Vista Home Premium 64bit
    Im getting it for somewhere around $1200+
    Directly from USA :)... This is the present config...
    might change in August(4 a better one of course ) ;) ;)
    So in sri lanka prices r bit higher when compared with this one...

    i mean like a Share Point server or any other kind of extreme development stuff?
    Because im going to use this lap for some development also. i need to know is this
    suit for me or not. Have you run VMWare or Virtual PCs on your machine. If yes how is the performance of those apps?

    I run VMware and Sun VirtualBox in my lap, both at the same time. I do java and c++ developing and for both i use this lap. So no problem bro..

    Maxxa performance..

    I even keep it switched on for whole week..

    I even played Grid in this lap for hours.. :)

    it's nt high end :(.... but u cn get a vaio for 13000.. config will b
    processor to 2.4GHz P8600
    Ram 3GB DDR2
    250GB(5400rpm)
    others r same
    if u cn try to get it from USA.. It's cheaper and good quality....

    Thats more than enough for me. :)

    Some told this Pavilion series is not that good for development. Thats y i was thinking twice. If there are recommendations like this i can go for it. Thanks bro.. ;)

    :O :O.... wht's nrmly ur machine temperature.... damn hp's r heating lyk hell....

    When playing Grid (after about 2 hours) the temp was around 57'C.. N it wont go above that..

    Actually the chipset is more cooler than what you feel from the outside.. Its cz of the fans u feel that heat..

    r u sure?? did u check GPU temperature????..... wht was it?????
