Why did Philippines reject the MCC second term agreement, also if it is a great deal why did Sirisena stay away from signing the agreement. why are they giving out free money? what is their intention? Why did Sirisena stay away? Enough backlash for Sirisena these days, if he's seen with something to do with the UNP or a country like US it wouldn't be best for his "active" political career which he intends to pursue after the election.

Why are they giving out free money/intentions? They are creating an enabling environment for private sector investment. Most of their projects are business oriented. Improving logistical infrastructure, transparency in land rights and access, power, agricultural. The only issue I see is whether the transparency created will affect local land ownership. I.e. Make easier for foreigners to acquire land. But the main goal of the land transparency is to strengthen Government administration capacity and assist with technological improvements.

If this is stopped through a court order now, I hope Gota will not oppose this since this grant is for development.
