You are making a mistake, neh machan , even with a petrol car. Its not about the car itself but your planning and readines. Always keep your fuel at least 50% full for emergencis, thats being prepared. It doesnt matter what kind of car you drive, you should always be ready for long trips.

How do you plan for a sudden hospitalization? Besides "always be ready for long trips" means keeping the battery charged above 50% at all times which means I only have 225kms of usable distance (which translates to about 150km in real world conditions) before needing to recharge the car... while my petrol car can make 400kms easily with half of a tank of fuel and adding another 400km takes 5 minutes tops.

If you had 50% batery, you could have easily completed the trip without stoping. Plus, you could charge the electric car on the way back. The key is getting there quickly, not necessarily rushing back.

We had to make haste to see the patient at the 5 PM allocated time, it was almost 6PM when we left the hospital - not a good time to worry about finding a place to recharge the car so we can make it home before dinner time

ඔයාගේ වාහනේ port එකට ආවොත් , AMW එකෙන් call එකක් එනවා “ඔයාගේ වාහනේ ආවා” කියලා (මෙය AMW Finance වෙතින් එන ඇමතුම නොවේ.) ඒකට ගොඩක් සතුටු වෙන්න එපා — තවම වාහනේ අරගෙන යන්න පුළුවන් නෑ. වැඩියම වුණත් සතිය 2-3ක් විතර ඉන්න වෙයි .
Leasing එකෙන් ගන්නවනම් , ඒක සෙට් කරලා DO එක (Delivery Order) එක්ක balance amount එකත් ගෙවන්න.
Insurance එකත් ready කරලා තියෙන්න ඕනෙ — sometimes process එකේදි වාහනෙට damage වුණොත් claim එකක් ගන්න වෙයි.
Final Payment එකෙ මේ documents ටික රෙඩි කරලා දෙන්න:
Passport size photos 2
TIN certificate copy එක (pre-order එක දාපු ගමන්ම හදලා තියෙන එක හොඳයි)
Affidavit එක (WhatsApp group එකෙන් හෝ AMW salesperson එකෙන් format එක ගන්න පුළුවන්)

Affidavit එකට ඔයාට AMW එකෙන් data ටික ගන්න වෙයි:
Chassis number, Vehicle model, Customs release number, Release date. Affidavit එකට JP sign එක + ඔයාගේ අත්සන (RS.100 stamp එකක් උඩ )
එවා හැම එකක්ම submit කරාම තමයි AMW එක releasing process එක start කරන්නෙ . භාරදීම අතරතුර, වාහන ලියාපදිංචි කිරීම සඳහා අවශ්‍ය සම්පූර්ණ කිරීමේ MT 6 form AMW එකෙදි fill කරලා දෙන්න. Release වෙන්න සති එකහමාරක් වගේ ගන්නවා .

දවස් එකතු වෙලා සතියක්හමාරක් වුණාට පස්සේ AMW එකෙන් ඔයාට කෝල් එකක් එනවා වාහනේ අරගන්න කියලා (ඇවිල්ලා නැත්තං ඔයාලම කතා කරලා follow up එකක් දාන්න ). ඒ අතරතුර registration number එකත් අරගෙන ඉන්න AMW එකෙන් . වාහනෙ Peliyagoda yard එකෙන් අරගෙන යන්න ඕනේනම්, මුලින්ම Union Place එකට ගිහින් final invoice එක, Warranty Book එක, User Manual එක, Gate Pass එක වගේ දේවල් අරගෙන යන්න වෙනවා . Google එකේ “AMW body & paint workshop Peliyagoda” කියලා search එකක් දාලා location එකත් ගන්න පුළුවන් . එකෙන් පස්සේ ඒ ලියපදිංචි document ටික Sales Agent ට දුන්නම ඔයාලට වාහනේ release කරනවා .
වාහනේ අරන් යන්න කලින් පොඩි inspection එකක් කරගන්න :
ඔක්කොම oil level හරිද
කප් ඔක්කොම වහලද
function ටික හරිදි වැඩ කරනවද
key start තියෙනව නම් එයත් හරිද
ලයිට් ඔක්කොම හරිද
Audio/Entertainment System එක වැඩකරනවද
Body එකට හරි interior එකට damages තියෙනවද
ඔක්කොම හරිනම්, ඔයාල signature එකක් දාලා document එක sales agent ට දෙන්න. Registration number එකත් print එකක් ගෙනාවොත් හොඳයි, windscreen එකේ පේන්න තියාගන්න පුළුවන් .
