    If you gotta choose between

    1. Mitsubishi Pajero
    2. Nissan Patrol
    3. Landcruiser Prado
    4. Landcruiser Sahara

    Rank them 1 - 4 please.

    Again, Thanks loads.

    Hey, I have done plenty of Four Wheel driving here in Perth.

    What are your main requirements? 90% on road driving and 10% Off-road? Do you carry a lot of gear? Daily driver or a weekend car?

    If you are not in to hard core 4WDwing, forget the Patrol. That thing is a big tractor with a decade old design.! Diesel automatic is extremely under-powered as well. Sahara is also a pain in the arse around town (i.e. shopping centre car parks), though extremely comfortable over long journeys and can carry a lot of stuff. One thing to remember with these big 4WD`s when off-roading is that they are not easy to pull out if you do get stuck. For example, a little Hilux wont be ably to easily pull out a stuck Sahara. you`ll need an equally bigger car.

    The Pajero is the most comfortable IMHO the best overall package for your budget. Prado is quite good as well, it`s got a solid axle at the back so a bit bouncier. Cant go wrong with either, but again, mostly depends on your requirement. If you dont do a lot of driving, even a Petrol engine is fine to use as a second car.

    The Landrover Discovery series 4 is a damn good car both off and on road. Landrover`s terrain response system works like a charm in sand and mud. I haven't seen any other system that worked that well 5 years ago (not exactly sure about the tech available these days). But as with most European cars, there are some design/technology issues which are inherent for the model. For example, you have to lift the entire body up, just to change the turbo on a Disco 4..! Rangerover Sport is equally great, though smaller in size. IMHO most Jeep`s (as a brand) are just poorly made and are not very dependable, I suppose you get what you pay for the money.

    Off-topic, but here`s a pic of my good old LandRover hanging out with a Japanese bunch. :rofl:

    Man! You're godsent! :shocked::eek::love:

    I'm in love with Discovery 4 man but to be honest i cant afford more than 30k right and to be exact the best I can do is 25k :sorry: so I'll go with Pajero 2010+ model. And another thing, Since you're already subscribed the thread, what's your opinion on Jeep Patriot (2014+)? Shit's too damn cheap but the car looks great despite the fact that it aint off road but I just need to digg in to details.

    And again thanks alot mate!

    Ha ha.. no worries machan..!

    Honestly, i'd stay away from any Jeep including the Patriot. Cheap plastics inside, quality control issues etc.. Jeeps are similar to Holdens, the overall quality is just not there. One of my friends top spec Grand Cherokee had a mis-aligned tailgate from factory.

    Im a Landrover man, but yeah, i wont buy a used Discovery 4. It'll be sensible to stick to a Prado or Montero, especially to do proper off road driving in a massive country like this.

    Good luck with the Paj hunt. Try to find one with the 3.2 Di-D diesel (i think the 2011 onwards had the highest power output). I belive this engine is superior to the D4D in the Prado.
