    Passive voice is used to describe the incident and it isn't normally used to tell who did that..Also we use the passive when it is not so important (or unknown) who or what did the action. If you write a Research documentation in active voice it could be weird because you have to use the subject everywhere.That's why they recommend to use passive in documentation.

    e.g.:
    Active voice statement: I have done this study study for this reason. (Meka kathai, uktha padyk thibba kiyala ksima vadgthkmkuth na, eka nisa passive statement liyana eka hodai)
    Passive voice statement: This study has been done for this reason.
    or This study was done for this reason.
    (utha pade thiyennma ona vdgth ekknm end ekta "by me" dthki.)
