    The truth is these Super Rich Guys will not work in Sri lankan hospital. After the Registration they will go abroad to work like Ausie or New Zealand.
    What I'm going to tell this is good move Sri lanka.
    They are spending money for studies in Sri lanka. Not to Russia.
    After going abroad they will send money to Sri lanka.
    Good Decision.:yes::yes:

    I don't think so...

    Since some are bitching about ACT16

    Students (Graduates) of SAITM were not allowed to sit for ACT16 exams because SLMC did not accept their degree as a Valid one. (Though all the SAITM grads were requesting SLMC to let them sit for an unbiased ACT16 exam after their graduation) This was one main point highlighted on the Appeal.

    But from today SLMC must allow all the SAITM Grads to sit for ACT16 without any restrictions.

    If someone can pass ACT16 (Which even a considerable number of local med students fail) after a MBBS or an MD from anywhere in the world, i do not see any issue with letting them to practice.

    Correct :yes::yes::yes:

    Here bro from where did u extract this... if this is the case im all the way SAITM.. but sadly as far as i know.. even after talking to SAITM students.. they do no have to sit for a ACT16:angry::angry::angry:

    Without SLMC Registration they can't practice in Sri Lanka. So SLMC will ask them to sit for Act16 for sure. Even foreign registered doctors (I mean Foreigners) if they come to Sri lanka they must submit all the documents and must get Registration from SLMC as I know, This is the international rule for every country.

    No bro!!! u have got it wrong i rechecked... after this court order all they need to do is successfully complete the internship then they are registered doctors and if they are supposed to do the ACT16 they ought to do it before internship.. thats how foreign students do it, you cant get even the internship without a successful completion of the ACT16

    I don't think so...

    Even now Lots of Sri lankan Medical students studying in abroad Russia, China everywhere. Most of them Don't like to work in Sri lanka. They are target is to work in Aussie Canada US..etc.

    As a Example in Philippine and India, kerala State they are giving training to lots of Nurses and Doctors. They are target is Foreign jobs. That's good investment to their country. They claw money from foreign countries like Middle east, Europe, Singapore , Malaysia..etc.

    So according to the court's decision, SLMC must register this SAITM as a standard Medical College right? so that they have to ask for act 16 examination right? Or wait..Is court given decision not required Act 16 too?

    So they not have any barrier to work our poor society being a good doctor thanks to most skillful profession, lawyers...

    Previously court ordered to give internship in Hospitals. They never asked to do any exam ACT 16. SO NO ACT 16 required right ?

    Yes. Correct. All Foreign graduates have to pass Act16. then only they will get chance to do Internship. After the Internship They will get full registration as a Doctor. That certificate is valid to work in anywhere.
    I don't know about this court order. I think this rule will be applicable for SAITM students also.

    What I meant was that migrating to another country may not be in the priority list for a large majority of the students going to SAITM. Why would they take such a risk without going to a foreign medical-college? Most of them would either need the MBBS as a qualification or would prefer to practice in SL.

    Besides, there are better options to consider than SAITM if they are really planning to practice in countries like Aus or NZ with that amount of money.

    Yes. Previously, SLMC had not registered them stating "QUALITY" of the course and few more. So now, Thanks to court, SLMC can't question on that. They have to register all.

    I think you know in Sri lankan government health ministry doctors vacancies almost filled. According to me, Government university doctors can work in government hospital and Private faculty students can work in private hospitals like Nurses are practicing now. if private faculty student like to work in abroad they can apply.
    Not only SAITM. We should have 2,3 more private universities. Then SAITM will reduce the faculty fees automatically.
