well we are saving the best for last;):P:lol:
Every team has its downfalls;)
All Blacks were the favourite to win the 2007 title, but who would have thouht they will bear to France;)
We had 2 consecetive wins & I know they weren't the best of the lot, but it'll cheer up us;) It'sa all about the rythem u aqcuire in the game although many think it's the power to break through is what rugger is all about;)
We'll see mate who'll make it to the finals.
I'm prety sure our lads will be prety much in the up front. U guyz were horrible against Trinity. The match against Pathana was a very biasly judged match. If u don't believe our words just check in the Royal Rugby group in FB what Thora's had to say avout it.
Other thing is that both the game we lost were pretty tight games too unlike ur lost against Trinity which they cleaned u up in big time;):P

lol......... mate al blacks only won de wrld cup once (datz also lng lng tym bck) bt dey've been de fanz favourite in most of de wrld cupz (due 2 dare unique game ply). Nwy wht hpnd 2 ya all dat RC cn beat Pathana thing..... mate i dnt wnt 2 go n chk da RC grup (itz obviously bias 2 da RC ne) in fb wht STC guyz said abt ya 2nd lost. I wnt 2 watch da match n saw sm RC plyrz gttin warninz n one plyr almost gt sinbin. Man sm of de Peteritez n even Trinitiens(who watched da match) cngrtz us for our win ovr RC. Mate RC isnt da fan favorite team in dis season n needless 2 sy dis yrz match isnt jst abt da Maj Milroy Trophy. For us itz da mst imprtant match in de season. Nwy mate we only lost 1 match u guyz lost ya two matchz. N mate dnt frgt, da score only important if the two teamz had equal winz n losses. N mate no need 2 sy RC still dwn below us in de point table....... :P End of de dy we jst shwd so called Gentlemen how 2 ply rugby in a ground  Sry mate factz cryin out loud..... we jst simply bttr dan RC dis yr (n most of de pst yrz too ne  ) n yeah yeah i guess u heard dis sinhala syin "Natanna bari minihata polowa adai lu ne" so mate jst stop plyin same old disk whn ya lose n learn 2 admit ya lost. As ya said yeah we lost 2 Trinity. Dey plyd really wel n our guyz fault is dey underestimated dem. We nvr said it was de wet ball n it was very biasly judge match. N for ya info mate if ya watch de match dare were lot of doubtful decisionz givn by da ref to da RC side so we r da 1 shud sy it was bias 2 da RC side. If dose decisionz given bias 2 our side RC will lost 2 Pathana in a biggr margin. Mate we win with pride n lost wit pride. :D Cheerz....................

An unknown rugby playing school C. W. W. Kanangara Maha Vidyalaya, Borella produced a shock victory in the current inter-school season when they beat D. S. Senanayake 6-0 in their “A” division group “C” match at Havelock Park on Wednesday.

Their win sent out a firm message to rugby promoters in the country who often look into the wrong direction as they search for answers.

The school does not have even a ground to practice on and most of the players knew nothing about the game according to coach Ajith Fernando.

Fifteen year old winger Ranganath was the match-winner when he fired across two penalties in the 20th and 29th minutes of the second half.Kanangara MV took to playing rugby just seven years ago and qualified to play in the A division from this year.

They have also beaten Piliyandala Central 37-12 and lost to Zahira 8-13.

This year team is led by Kirishan Prematilleke.

There are four matches down for decision in the Singer inter-school rugby league tournament today. Of the four games three are to be played in Kandy with only one in Colombo. The pick of the four is no doubt the encounter between Trinity and S. Thomas’ due to be played at Pallekelle.

The other two matches in Kandy are St Anthony’s vs St Peter’a at Nittawela and Kingswood vs Vidyartha at Bogambara while Royal will host Dharmarajah in the match in Colombo at the Royal Complex ground. The game between Trinity and S. Thomas’ is going to be crucial for both sides as they are the only unbeaten sides in the Division 1A category. The Trinitians who are leading the points table after the completion of three rounds will go all out to maintain their unbeaten tag. They are coming into the game with immense confidence and according to the performance of the nine teams in this group it seems that Trinity is the side to beat. The Thomians on the other hand are not going to have things the way they want it today. They had to sweat for their three wins against St Anthony’s, St Peter’s and Dharmarajah and all these were achieved during the dying stages of the match. It’s left to be seen whether the Thomians could make a repeat with Trinity getting the support from the home town crowd so it’s going to be a tough task for them.

St Peter’s and Kingswood are favoured to pull off the games in Nittawela and Bogambara. St Peter’s after their shock defeat to S. Thomas’ came back to tarnish Kingswood’s record while Kingswood though they were beaten last week should find no difficulty in overcoming Vidyartha who have lost both their matches.

Royal though winning their match against Vidyartha are yet to make any impression. They lost their first two matches and their win against Vidyartha who are very weak side cannot be taken seriously. Today they confront Dharmarajah who is also yet to see the winning post.

The Royalists cannot relax and take the Rajans lightly as they showed last week that they have the fighting qualities. The Rajans having played a lackluster game in their first encounter against the Petes seems to have improved a lot. What they need is little more patience and also not relax which denied them of a morale boosting victory against S. Thomas. According to the form of the two teams it’s going to be an interesting tussle and finding the winner in this game is not going to be an easy task.

It is always a thriller to witness a game when two unbeaten teams tussle for supremacy and this will turn out to be a reality when the traditional rivals, Trinity College, Kandy lock horns with S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia at the Bogambara Stadium in a Singer League inter-school rugby fixture today.

Trinity who are moving ahead in fine fettle with two consecutive wins should have the edge over the visiting Thomians in regaining the Canon. R. S. de Saram trophy. The game that was originally scheduled to be played at Pallekele Rugby Stadium was later shifted to the Bogambara Stadium. .

Trinity who opened the season on a victorious note defeating Isiaptana College 29 points to 10 went on to maintain their winning streak when they walloped their home town rivals Vidyartha College by 60 points to 9.

Given the current form of the Lions, plus, the home advantage, they go out as the favourites in overpowering the lads from Mount Lavinia.

On the other hand, S. Thomas’ who opened the season on a similar note defeating St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota 14 points to 10 came out with some forceful rugby to make the defending champions St. Peter’s College kiss the dust (22-19) at the end of an exciting game which could have gone either way.

Although the Trinitians did not have a fixture last week, the Thomians had a shocker of a game against Dharmaraja College when they had to come from the jaws of defeat to snatch victory in a game which had a close finish of 22 points to 20.

Recent records show that S. Thomas’ who lost by a margin of 12 points to nil in 2006 went onto secure the trophy after a closely contested game last year in which the Thomians triumphed by 19 points to 15.

Thus, the Thomians led by their number eight, Rohitha Rajapaksa should come out with a different trick today, if they are to overpower the Lions led by their flanker, Milinda Gunawardana.

The junior under 18 game played for Norman Walter trophy is scheduled to commence at 3.30 pm while the 1st XV game kicks off at 4.30 pm.
