when ISPs can categorize and promote traffic (Google, Netflix, apple etc) the next possibel step they can take is traffic priority, even artificially.
what's to say they wouldn't promote their own service or highest paying business over the others? suddenly one service seems faster than the other
they can slow down certain sites or protocols (bittorrent is a good example) while allowing others to operate normally.
besides think about it like this: if the data caps here were more reasonable they wouldn't be able to sell all these entertainment "packages" like this and rake in more money. right?
they're using the same bandwidth, but by differentiating it they get to charge more
lapping it up to a simple economic gain is a slippery slope to more restrictive BS


consumers should be more aware of what's happening
