Giving interview to a world's famous radio channel,
At 00:55 Sanga replied that they will retire after WC 2015. Both are great servants of world of cricket. Will be missed big time. btw A difficult time ahead of SL team, will lose experienced and good players after WC.
Tomorrow the international summer begins with England playing a T20 match against Sri Lanka at the Oval - full commentary on 5 live sports extra. England then have 5 one-day matches and two Tests against the Sri Lankans, including Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara.
The two greats of the game first met when playing an under 17 game 20 years ago... since then, they've developed a strong friendship, set the world record for the highest first-class partnership of 624; and they hold the sixth and ninth positions in the list of highest Test runscorers of all time.
5 Live's Tim Peach went to see them this morning, and asked Jayawardene for his impressions of Sangakkara when they first met...
