Free Education is a very valuable thing. I really appreciate it. I did a/l s in maths stream and got BBC. I'm sure i will get selected to Colombo Uni Physical science. But my ambition is to become an engineer and do a job in technical field. Colombo Uni Physical Science degree is well recognized and its free i know that.
But we have to think about this also.
If we are doing a physical science degree we must be ready to get a 1st class or a 2nd upper degree. If we get a general degree we have to teach in an a/l section of a school. That is not what we want to do.So that's a risky thing. But if we do an engineering degree, and though we don't get a class we got a chance to do a good job. That's a main point. And I'm not interested to study math and phy to the deep, by doing a physical degree. I a really interested in technical field. So I decided to go to SLIIT and do Electronic Engineering. I would love to have a SL free education and have the spirit of a UNI life. but if i register in SLIIT i have no opportunity to apply for a local uni. But in the other side we can apply to SLIIT though we are a student of a local uni. But SLIIT starts on feb 2nd and have no time to do such thing. I wish if i can go to katubedda uni and do engineering but unfortunately i lost that chance.
Now i'm in a good aim to do the engineering degree at SLIIT. So I'm hoping to do it on my best. Need your ideas. Do you think whether my decision is good? reply to this thread. Thanks.

i ll tell you what i feel.... register with SLIIT..... to your eng degree. but dont give up the uni. register with them as well and try do the best while you are doing SLIIT. i know people who did both. end of the 3-4 years you will end up with 2 degrees. give the priority to your main interest. But take the chance. go to UOC. try to do your best. physical science is not that hard as i heard from my friends. most of them..... do some other studies with that cuz as you said it is not enough.
SO if i was you I choose both.
( i had the same choice and my stupidity..... no use of talking that. that is why im telling you ). but it depends on you. you have to work hard for a better future.
all the best machan.....

Halloween said:The thing is this machan. I have to register in SLIIT before feb 2nd. But if I register in SLIIT, some ppl say that i can't go to a uni. because SLIIT is also a higher educational institute registered in UGC. But if I register in the uni then i acn go to SLIIT. But then i have to wait another year to go to SLIIT. that's the prob machan. anyways thanks alot for your advices.
Cheers...!!
