No machan, im not agreeing with u. The main fact is that, Sri Lanka has less facilities and space for education. If i drag medical college for the topic, there'll be only around 1350 student vacancies per year. But per year there are around 2 lakhs of bio students who sit for ALs. Even the exam gets easier, only 1350 get the chance. And bro, our papers are stranderd. Coz this is the much you must struggle to study. You must study hard. Govt. cant expect that all the failures come to forces. Most of them (90%) goes elsewhere. Some migrates. Some do computer related jobs or courses. The education system of Sri Lanka was the same from 2000 (New Syllabus). Only thing is, in a specific year, even the exam was hard or easy, they students to fill every vacancy in the campus-(lets say 1300 for bio, then exam lesi wunath amaru wunath udinma inna 1300 athulata yanawa). Thing is comparing to other countries, we dont have very much facilities for free education. Thats the reason of the lowered amount of intake of students. BUT, Mahinda or Ranil or whoever, it was same.
About OLs, you got a point. But machan most of todays children, do CIMA, BIT, AAC, etc; or just go for a job if they fail. Most of them redo for 2nd shy. But macho normally, forces walata yanawanam yanne, e gana kalin indalama intend ekak thiyaganipu, ekata AsAwak thiyena aya neda? For example, you don't just 'let yourself' to do medicine or engineering or arts or commerce? Am I correct? You select, choose your way of future ne. And you can't tell Forces are full of matta s. There are even doctors ne. Macho igena ganna eka, uwamanAwak thiyenawanam oni kenekta karaNa puluwan. You must try hard to pass for the best. That's the spirit.
About the OL paper, paper has been created by a panel of professors, in collobration with a set of psychologists. I can't see any connectivity of the OL paper to the forces. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see you have posted a serious statement questionier about the Sri Lankan Examination System
