("find the non-believers and argue with them till they realize that they are wrong and till they believe in God because certainly, they are no match for us"..:P onna ohomai quran eke kiyanne....

we can quote quran verses and show u where quran is telling them to let them go on their way.our duty is to just convey the message.if u are 100% sure that it is mention in quran ple copy and paste here.

sura kafiroon

Say: O disbelievers!
I worship not that which ye worship,
Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
And I shall not worship that which ye worship
Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
To you be your Way, and to me mine.

suraj...i think u understand this quran verses. so i hope u should acknowledge it and stop quoting wrong information and misguiding people for the favour of ur believe.

i can very much point the verse in quran that says "certainly they(non-believers) are no match for us".....but i won't do it here because it will take this ela eluwa's thread off topic....

but mind u,,this"certainly, they are no match for us" thing shows how much "high" u people think about ur religion...(no wonder you r tempted to call it the only true religion...:baffled:)

to reply u,its better to take the example u gave.

i think this suits for a person who dont want to stop drinking.
if a person want to stop drinking and have a good life he shoulld have a desire(ආශාවක්/තණ්හාවක් ) to stop it.

    what u think....

this is just an example. aashawa athi wenne aashwadayata...noble eightfold path is a resolution. and it is devoid from aashwadaya or aadeenawaya.

thats why Buddha called it a ``middle path``...where there is no ``sukha wideema`` there is no desire. aashawa athi wenne wideema nisa...

This is what you called playing the "Pure Semantics" game and avoiding the "obviouse Meaning"

Desire as far as I know refers to clinging, උපාදාන. A person will avoid what is not merit-full by Right View, Righteous striving. How come clinging come in to play in such endavour where "pragna -ප්‍රඥා - Wisdom is playing the key role?

    no.,brother its a wrong logic.
if person who is over weight who want to loose his weight, he have a desire. so to archive his desire he will follow some ප්‍රතිපත්ති such as doing exercise, dieting.so i think if we dont have a desire(ආශාවක්/තණ්හාවක් ) we cant follow any principles( ප්‍රතිපත්ති).

i didnt get ur point. motive is up to him.so motive depend on person and his desire.

ලව්කික සැපය and( desire) ආශව are same know.and y u think that he cant achive
නිවන් by this. does it mean that to achive නිවන් we should not have any ලව්කික අශාව like having a nice and peace full life.

then is it that only monks can achive නිවන්.?

Hope you are bright enough to understand.

even ur example shows that that the eagle has a desire to get relief from pain. anyway useless talking regarding this coz its very illogical.
in every action of our life there is a need/desire.

even to get nivena a person should have a like on that know.if a person dont want to achive that he will never follow the foot path.

when i learn buddhism its always changing which contradict much.

anyway i dont think should discuss over and over agein.
