I'm not an expert machan but I know its a pretty good car. You can find a good MAZDA 3 for 3 million. Few things I know;
1. For the price range its the best sport looking car you can get. It's dashboard and interior is better than any of the car in this range.
2. M3 is not good on fuel. 8-9 is the maximum that you can get within city limits. The truth is most of the gasoline cars run in the same average.
3. If you are looking to resell for a gain, then this is not the ideal option.

Most sensible answer.

1. Most gasoline vehicles do just about 8-10 kmpl in city limits.
2. Mazda 3/Axela is a pretty decent vehicle and when it comes to performance, driving pleasure, handling, mazda 3 is leagues ahead when compared with toyotas such as 240s and even 260s.
3. Allions, axios and premios are flooded on roads- it's nice to drive a car that every tom,dick and harry doesnt drive (strictly personal opinion btw)
4. Because of the retarded mentality of sri lankan car market second hand value is lower than a toyota. You can sell a fresh pile of dogshit for a huge amount in SL if it have the toyota logo on that.

All in all I say go for the mazda 3/Axela. Or go for a Honda Civic (2007/2008) or Mitsubishi Lancer EX (2007/2008).
