i changed it to a benq to use its software...was testing the overspeed and those things...hehe. it doesn't really matter to me now. just don't see a reason to change back to a Sony.

I found a DVD-R disk. Not a full 4.37GB, but comes close. Here is the result:

BTW, DVDs don't have a maximum read speed
They only have a maximum read speed
Read speed is determined by the drive only. If the drive doesn't like the disc, it will slow down.![]()

Burst speed doesn't mean much, if at all anything. It is the "smooth" read curve that matters the most. It means that the drive doesn't have to slow down to retry reading a sector which it can't read at the line profile speed.samiram said:ohh..
