I see, So you are more of modern/contemporary fan. I too fancy TV shows set in modern era, yet at the same time i enjoy shows like game of thrones, Spartacus,Hell on Wheels,Downton Abbey ...etc

    Yep. In short,
There should be something to drive my attention away from medieval or victorian-like surrounding. It could be the plot, fantasy elements, fights etc

Doyle's Sherlock Holmes always has modernized plot and good character development which drives my attention away from the surrounding.

Lord of the Rings has fantasy elements and fights

    Spartacus, Boardwalk Empire has none.

But however the world's taste is otherwise. Thats the reason 3 of my most favorite has faille miserably :( (V, The Event, FlashFoward)

The Event had potential at first, but then it started to suck miserably. It felt like NBC was trying to remake a combination of LOST and 24 (and failed big time). I knew it was going to get canceled.

Loved it beginning to the end :(
And 24 movie also delayed dude to budget issues. Im running out of series and movies :/

You have no idea how hard it is to find that runs the one story throughout the whole series with all pre specified requirement covered !

Just finished watching last weeks The Walking Dead.It seems that everybody is infected but the virus only kicks in once you are dead. And the best part ; all this time shows title "The Walking Dead" has been referring to the survivors not zombies. BRILLIANT!!

Pilot was satisfying,What do you think?

Sorry ? no problem I have no idea what did you mean anyway

Well almost every TV show has a main plot line or "one story" as you said. But the shows you specifically mentioned that you dislike are just too complicated. Many had/have hard time following them. For example I cannot explain even a single LOST season wihtout writing a small book. But if you look at the abstract its bunch of strangers struggling to survive. In X-files that one story is hiddne in plain sight; He really wanted to believe.I could go on explain heroes ..etc . Now The Event on the other hand tried be a real mind twister yet it had no elements required. It was too plain and simple for its genre. That is why lot of people disliked it. Hope you get what i meant.
BTW I said "I am sorry" because i thought you might feel offended by the whole "The Event is "LOST" for dumb people.

about that forum try TV.com forum or TVrage.

I came across with House, X files etc which runs by one story per one episode
basis. And Fringe, Stargate kinda develop stories individually to the point that all get connected.

But my most favorite is "The Event" & "Prison Break" kind. Which has distinctly one and only one story for whole series. That is kinda hard to find. If its not hard then yeah its hard to find with all my requirement filled, as you said

Yeah I got it. Only I couldnt experienced for myself while watching "The Event".

After all its different strokes for different folks. But still, even house have a main storyline( Anti-social doc with not so well accepted opinions about everything trying to save his patients).

Prison Break was good but only first season. It had everything.Throughout first season every episode had small cliffhangers which kept us counting our fingers. But from season 2 It started to go down the hill didn't it? The whole scyla thing, the company, it became just another story by that time.

I need something to keep me on the edge of my seat (except sitcoms and comedy). It doesn't necessarily mean they all have to be action filled thrillers but pinch of suspense will do.

Watch some films too and share you valuable comments on them here as well :)http://www.elakiri.com/forum/showthread.php?t=209909

Will do if i come across a movie worth mentioning.BTW thanks for the nice conversation mate.Lot of people in Elakiri don't watch TV that much and the bunch that watch tv will go like "patta kathawa, pissu hadenawa, mara scene eka ne but none talk about plots or characters. Nobody wants to explorer these shows.

    The Confession

One awesome series big frigging A !
My Ratings not less than 8.5

    TheConfession_020212.jpg

Remember the beautiful journey that the movie "Man from Earth" walk us through ?
Excellent character development and glamorous dialogs that the series "House M.D." displayed ?

This series is almost equal for both attributes combined

The story revolves around a killer who saw a peace of one of hes victim at the last moment which he never had. He seek for a answer from a priest via confession.

Its a must watch by everyone else. Specially for those who enjoyed Dr House, 24 and the movie Man from Earth.

Series contain 10 episodes. Worst case it will only cost you only one hour
As 1 episode is just 6 minute long

    Watching Stargate SG01 series again

They made a serious mistake of their own concept in the very first episode !
Stargate wormhole(dnt mind the spelling) is only one way.
Somehow ra and his gang manage to establish a wormhole from their world to earth and tehy escape through the same same one.
    FAIL !
