Definitely SG-01 and Atlantis are super rocking if you are a good sci fy fan
Speaking of Universe I gave up after 3,4 episodes looked boring
Three different TV shows but they follow the same core plot and overlap sometimes. SG1 is the original series while other two serve as spin off series. SG1 takes events from the movie "Stargate" and then builds up a whole new story from there. It mainly focuses on our home galaxy. Atlantis premiered right after seventh season of SG1 and ran alongside with it. It focuses on Atlantis expedition team, A group of people who embark on a daring journey to find out about their long lost ancestors and scientific advancement. SG1 ended after tenth season while Atlantis ended after fifth season. SGU follows the story of Destiny, an unmaned explorer ship launched by a mysterious race to find out about the cosmic pastern of universe or in other words destiny of everything. SGU is nothing like SG1 or Atlantis. IMO its not bad as everybody claim it to be
First watch the movie "stargate" . You may not like it but if you really want to enjoy the series you should watch it. Then start with SG1. After seventh season watch both Atlantis and SG1. For example watch SG1 S08E01 and then Atlantis S01E01 and again SG1 S08E02 & Atlantis S01E02 . Continue this pattern until SG1 ends (SG1 ends and Atlantis awaits Season 4). Then watch Staragte " Ark of Truth" (movie). And continue with the fourth season of Atlantis.After fourth season, watch Stargate "Continuum" (movie) and continue watching Final season of Atlantis.
After all these start watching SG universe.

There is a complete guide from green man up there. Anyway if you gonna watch it I advice to do so with subtitles on
And try to grab each and every word coming out of Carters when shes explaining something. Those series are old like decade and still nothing beats them when its comes to sci fis
I never had anyone to pointout with this good instruction :/ Anyway I dont think one should watch Stargate movie in order to enjoy the SG01. If my memory serves me right movie had some mismatching with series concepts

In the movie gould is like an energy form or something and spread throughout the body. Not just a tiny snake

You are correct. There are lot of differences, even in gate technology and other mythologies. But watching it would do no harm.
