Revision of Vehicle Taxes
8.17 In order to encourage low income families to purchase a motor car to improve their
living standards, I propose to reduce the taxes applicable on the motor cars with engine
capacity less than 1,000 cc by around 15%.
8.18 The present tax structure on motor vehicles has created an unhealthy disparity between
hybrid and normal motor cars. In order to rectify this anomaly, I propose to revise the
excise taxes applicable on hybrid vehicles. These changes will be implemented from mid
night today.
8.19 The present practice of depreciating the value of vehicles at the point of import has
created many mal-practices, including under valuation of vehicles and changing the date
of registration. This has led to a significant amount of revenue loss to the government.
As a solution for this, I propose to remove the depreciation Table with effect from mid
night today.

හයිබ්රිඩ් ගැන මෙහෙමයි....
වසර දෙකක් පැරනි වාහනත් බ්රැන්ඩ් නිව් වාහනත් කියන දෙකෙන්ම එකම ටැක්ස් ගානක් ගන්නේ. හයිබ්රිඩ් ටැක්ස් ගාන එකයි.
ඒත් වසර දෙකක් පරන වාහනයක් යම් රටකින් ගෙන්වන මිල අලුත් වාහනයකට වඩා අඩු නිසා අවුරුදු 2ක් පරන වාහන බ්රැන්ඩ්නිව් වාහන වලට වඩා අඩුවෙනවා.
දැනට ගෙන්වා ඇති අවුරුදු දෙකකට වාඩා පරන නොවන හයිබ්රිඩ් වල මිල කලින් තිබුනු ගානට වඩා 10% කින් වැඩිවෙනවා.
සරලව කිව්වොත් 2015 බ්රැන්ඩ් නිව් වාහනයක් ගෙන්වීමත් 2013 වාහනයක් ගෙන්වීමත් අතර මිල ලොකු වෙනසක් වෙන්නේ නෑ. උදාහරනයක් විදියට ගත්තොත් ජපන් 2015 "X" වාහනය ජපානේදි රුපියල් වලින් ලක්ශ 20 නම් ඒ වාහනේම 2013 වාහනය ලක්ශ 19 නම් ඔය ලක්ශෙක අඩුවිමත් ටැක්ස් වලින් 68000ක අඩුවිමකුත් තමයි තියෙන්නේ.
ඉහත විස්තර දැක්වූ හයිබ්රිඩ් වාහනය
2015 X වාහනය ලන්කාවේ මිල 3160000 නම්
2013 X වාහනය ලන්කාවේ මිල 3002000 වගේ වෙනවා.

හයිබ්රිඩ් තීරු බදු වැඩිවෙයි වගේ... කීයක ප්රතිශතයකින් වැඩිවෙනවද කියලා හෙට තමයි දැනගන්න වෙන්නේ.
ක්ශය වීමේ ක්රියාවලිය ඉවත් කල නිසා හයිබ්රිඩ් නොවන වාහනවල මිල අනිවාර්යෙන් වැඩිවෙනවා. ඒ අනුව දැන් පවතින මිලට වඩා වාහනය ගෙන්වන මුදලට සමානව හා වසරට සමානව ගෙන්න වාහන 10% 20% 30% 40% වශයෙන් වැඩිවෙනවා.
