If you are applying under B1/B2 visa category following documents are needed.

    1. Draft drawn in favour of US Embassy Colombo for visa fees
    2. 2 photographs according to the specifications given in the application form
    3. Passport valid for travel (Passport expiry more than 6 months)
    4. Letter of invitation from invitee
    5. Original salary slips and photocopies
    6. On-line nomination completed (DS 160)
    7. Original marriage certificate with an English translation and photocopies (if applicable)
    8. Original personal bank statements for the past 3 months and photocopies
    9. Educational certificate (1 certificate - highest qualification)

Whether you are getting the visa or not is completely up to the Visa Officer. Even though you have all the documents, if the officer does not feel like giving the Visa, you will not get it.

Be neutral when facing the interview.

What they are really looking during the interview is to identify whether you are going to stay in the US. Therefore if you can convince them that you have every reason to come back to Sri Lanka you will get Visa quickly.

    All the best....

    400 : Bad Request
You'll do fine in the visa interview at the consular Sri Lanka. You will get the visa but that doesn't grantee that they will allow you to enter the states. You have to go through the customs officer at the port of entry, you have to convince him/her also (that's the hard part)

read carefully everything on the following link. There are videos on facing the custom officer I couldn't find them now with my SLT connection (limited)

    Good luck mate. :)
