thanks a lot machan, I'll convey the info to her .. so you mean the best way, is to get the charter status from the IET and then go for the membership of the IESL and they'll accept it (I'm not quite sure if she already having a such status from IET, though she has a stamp of some kind from EC-UK I guess and registered in ICE too). So, still IESL guys might check whether she has went through the maths stream in A/Ls although she has a charter status. Is that a possibility or a fact? Anyways I'll ask her to go through these details and make a decision based upon available info. Further I'll ask her to contact the IET guys in UK to get a better view of this scenario than asking IESL guys again.

Ask her to go to IESL and meet executive secretary. He is a chartered engineer and knows all regulations. The issue is most of U.K. Degrees are three year degrees

ok, machan, thanks alot .. I'll ask her to visit IESL .. and I don't think being it a three year degree makes the SL four year degrees superior. Then the UK buildings have to have collapsed to the ground which was initially designed by UK engineers if their teaching methods or duration of study is not enough. No offense to SL universities though. :dull:

IET is for electrical engineers. ICE is the alternative for the civil.

Because all reputed UK universities give 4 year degree or 3+1 BEng/MEng. This applies not only for Sri Lanka but also for any country under Washington accord. Not every UK uni is like Ox-bridge

You serious? Do u think I am having a static IP? Do u think I am a server? My IP is dynamic for your information. Besides I don't know this guy HypermaD. You coming here shopping for your sister and insulting people for their views, you are pretty much a douchebag. For your record, I tell you this, I have seen an engineer pass out with state B.Tech computer engineering degree with honours who had done Arts for her A/Ls, but I haven't seen is a lousy guy trying to be cool talking about his relative sister in a forum. Come on man. Grow up.
