It's hard to explain. Programming is a skill. Just like any other skill, it needs to be practised and developed. Actually you needs to have a knack. What you need is the art of programming. It's to understand the problem, figure out how to resolve it. This is the fundamental basis for coding.
This is what the earlier poster (niyomax) was hinting at.
Then you can adapt to the language or to the development stack. Don't stick to one programming language. Be versatile. The more flexible you are your scope gets widened and more opportunities will be available to you as a developer.
Look for some typical small tasks on the Net, write your own code, try to do it differently and improve. Good luck!
