The levied tax depends on the declared value of the item, which is the customs officer's prerogative to raise or lower as he sees fit. You know where I'm going with this right? If it was you who went to collect the item there's a chance to negotiate. At least you could've gotten the declared value changed to the correct amount you spent.

Nah just uninformed, we learn something new every day... never use DHL or Fedex (or a courier that clears the parcel from the customs for you) if the applicable tax is more than 10% for the item you're importing. Always use EMS or standard international shipping (eBay/Aliexpress). You'll have to collect the item yourself from the nearest foreign parcel counter, but the tax you'd have to pay will be much lower.
ඕක ඉතින් කුනු ගොඩ දාන්නයි , වොසින් මැටිරියල් ස්ටෝ කරන්න නේ තියෙන්නේ . ඉතින් ඕක පොඩ්ඩක් අතින් කරානම් මැරෙනවද. මොකද ඔය ස්ටේශන් ඇවිදන් ගිහින් රීෆිල් ක්ලීන් කරගන් නෑනේ මිනිස්සු කරන්න එපැයි . ඉතින් මහා ඉඩක් ගන්න ස්ටේසන් එක්කට වඩා චාජින් ස්ටේසම විතරක් තියන එක ගත්තම ඉඩ එහෙම්ම ඉතුරුයි . කොටින්ම කබඩ් එකක් යට උනත් තියන්න පුලුවන් .
