    Please be HONEST...

    Dear Mr Perera,

Please be honest to mention from where did you get these pictures. These pictures belongs to me. I doubt you may not able to answer the questions like which camera and which lenses, where and when etc.

And I saw that you mentioned - thawa tiyanawa. Passe tika tika dannam. Better post your own on the next time.

Here is my original submission, and check the date I added them to flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/34479556@N00/329765713/in/set-72157594406483798/

And you can clearly see who's pictures are these from here as well - http://www.srilankanlocos.com/images/kalpa/kbhike.html

    TO ALL,

There are so many train lovers in Sri Lanka and we have a common place to gather, discuss and post out stuff. They are doing various activities including railway hiking in our world class tracks. You can find more details including history and locomotive techniques there - http://www.srilankanlocos.com/index.html.

There is a FaceBook group as for all the people who like to participate for Sri Lankan Railway - http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/group.php?gid=167569104605

Further more you can find details, and include your valuable details to Wikipedia page for Sri Lankan Railway - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sri_Lanka_Railways which is initiate by me.

Thanks a lot for Lahiru - to pointing out about my pictures posted in this thread. I wish the person who started this thread will give the credit for people who really work hard...

    Thank you,

    Dude Mr Perea,

Don't worry boss.. I was bit worried when I saw them. I published those without any watermark, hoping anyone taking them will mention where did they get it.

Anyway I'm so happy to see there are many who love these stuff.

If you like these stuff, what you have to do is very simple. Get some one. One would be more than enough. When there are more, people get deviate with different interests. Most of the hikes I went, I had only one or two partners. Raveen (who replied before) was with me for most of them. I think the word 'Railway Hike' is also our production.

And when talking about finding time.. all people who went on these journeysare not in the country. They do all these stuff with 2 or 3 weeks vacation they are getting per year. If someone interest on them, they will find couple of days among their busy schedules.

The most interest area to walk and see the natural beauty is between Nanu Oya and Bandarawela. Most people end their journey from Nanu Oya and missing the best part. Even beyond Nanu Oya, between Ohiya and Idalgashinna is the best as per my experience.

Do you know that the most number of railway tunnels in the Asia ( I don't know the world count) lays between Ohiya and Idalgashinna? There are 18 tunnels in this 4 mile distance.

The best way to get there - take the early morning Podi Manike from Colombo to Haputhale or Bandarawela. But if you can go till Badulla, you can enjoy the 9 arches bridge at Demodara. You can stay either Bandarawela, Haputhale or if you are brave, at Ohiya or Idalgashinna stations. If you talk to anyone working at the station, you can find accommodation.

And finally - please be friendly with people living near the railway track, do not disturb their day today activities. Do not destroy anything on your way and Enjoy!

    Regards,
    Kalpa
