Yes... That's the answer. In the traditional way, vaccines just imitate an infection. But with mRNA vaccines, the lab created mRNA uses the information in genes to create a blueprint for making proteins. Our cells are a complete manufacturing plant. Given the instructions it can churn out what's desired - in this case the Spike protein gets produced, which our body's defence system recognizes as alien. Whatever the method is the body reacts the same way for the case of infection or vaccination.
However, I should also say that even though there are many similarities, but also there can be differences between vaccine immunity and natural immunity. Too complex to describe here in full, but the response to an infection or vaccination with a live virus, usually IgM antibodies are made , followed by IgG & others.
With a mRNA vaccine exposure the B cells are produced and these in turn with the help of T-helper cells that signals the B cells to produce antibodies.
Note that the second booster shot kicks the T-cells to stimulate the memory B-cells (another type of B cell) to produce large quantity of antibodies.
Also with mRNA vaccines recent evidence points to the fact that protective antibodies generated can target a broader range of SARS-CoV-2 variants carrying “single letter” changes in a key portion of their spike protein compared to antibodies acquired from an infection.

Can you please elaborate last paragraph. more and if you can provide a source for part of "too complex to describe here in full," would be thankful. From this pandemic , the importance of Science and investment on that was highlighted. The whole world could not do deal with this pandemic if not for vaccines developed by BioNTec , Moderna, Oxford, etc. We should be thankful for dedication and commitment of these , specially when the world was reducing budget for reserch in Medicine worldwide. I hope this will change with Pandemic and that is the good side of it.

The Covid virus has 29,881 nucleotides, this makes it 4^14,941 different possible combinations for its genetic sequence - only counting basic letter changes. However, the Laws governing Protein Folding limits the possible missense mutations in the S-protein, which amounts to a total of 19,440 mutations. So there could be more to come....
It's not science that's screwed. It was the Chinese who screwed the world - and I said this in Feb 2020. Hope the expert virologists in here who laughed it off will still remember.

PS: The mistake was to fund vaccine research only. So everyone jumped on the vaccine bus. Had they initially allocated funds for Drug development, we would have fared better. Yes.. it was the vaccines that offered some level of safety, even it was designed on the Spike protein on the original Wuhan virus. In hindsight that was a mistake, but unforeseen at the time of development.

Used the words "too complex" because you need to refer a textbook on Immunology. Sorry. For what I mentioned in the last para, it was from a NIH funded study published in the Translational Medicine.

මගේ යාලුවෙක් ගේ නෑදෑ වෙන prof ල canada වල ඉන්න ඔය vaccine ගහලා නෑ. එයාලා කියලා තියන්නේ sure නෑ කියලා. මගේ යාලුවට ත් ගහන්න එපා කියලා. ඒ උනාට මේකේ ඉන්න බැරි නිසා sinopharm ගහලා
මම ගොණා සේ 1 සහ 2 ඩෝස් ගැහුවා. වෙලාවට මොකුත් අමාරුවක් නම් ආවෙ නෑ. ඒත් 3 ඩෝස් එක නම් ගහන්නෙ නෑ. එක එක අතුරු ආබාද ආපු දන්න කියන එවුන්ම ඉන්නවා.
කොරෝනා මරණ අඩු වෙලා තියෙන්නේ vaccine වලින් වෙන මරණ ඒකට එකතු නොකරන නිසා නේ.
ඒවත් එකතු කෙරුවොත් හැංගෙන්න තැන් නැති වෙනවා.
