Faith is important to humans because most of them can’t cope with the fact that this all might be totally meaningless and nothing matters in the end. That alone can make someone go insane. That’s why even most atheists nowadays worship science as an unquestionable belief which is quite funny

But don't they worship Vishnu?

PS; There were some cultures that worshipped the Moon. They didn't consider the moon to be a god. But some had the concept of a moon goddess - eg Selênê with the Greeks. The Romans had Luna. The word Lunacy derives from the Moon.
