I think glasses are greener to the environment. Since it takes less energy to recycle. One disadvantage of using glass is that it breaks very easily.
When it comes to plastic in the process of recycling plastics looses its integrity and need to turn something else. But glasses are not like that. A glass bottle is always turned back to a glass bottle.
