Today (17.04.2021) while turning onto Havelock road from Iswari road, this driver kept horning from the back (due to his absolute impatience). Said driver then continued to overtake WHILE we turned from the right to cut us off.

He then proceeded to cut us off AGAIN from both lanes until we reached the Kirulapona junction. Closer to the junction, he over took and went on the right lane and the passenger SPAT at our vehicle while showing vulgar hand gestures while we passed (on the left lane). Said driver then proceeded to FOLLOW us back on the left lane and overtook us from the left side. Said driver then started AGGRESSIVELY BASHING our passenger window with his fist, commanding us to put the shutter down.

He then overtook us from the LEFT at the colour lights (which is shown in the video) and tried to clearly come in contract with our vehicle for his sick pleasure.
Luckily we weren’t hurt and no harm was done to our vehicle but it left us both speechless.

It is absolutely shameful to say that this is the caliber of people driving on the streets of Colombo. Harassment does not even begin to describe how we (two women peacefully driving home) face PUBLICLY on a daily basis.
I am publicly posting this to make people aware that we are a far cry away from being safe even when we are just minding our own business. It is absolutely shameful to see this behaviour, yet this is what we continually face and clearly it seems to be getting no better as well.

I am still absolutely disgusted that I had to witness this. Appalled of audacity to treat another HUMAN in this manner as well. Clearly basic morals and human decency flew out of the window, just like the vulgar hand gestures and saliva that flew out from the man in the passenger seat.
