MR should retire now . How old is he and how long can he continue his corruption and dictatorship . I do not think MR is a good choice now! He had his two terms as president that is enough. Even in US(not international conspiracy) president can only contest twice, no matter how good he is. There was no two term restriction on US constitution till 1930s when the great depression happened. Francline Delano Roosavelt became very popular with his 'new deal' and for the first time and also for the only time because of his popularity people elected him for the third time as he contested for the third time. The result was he tried to fill US supreme court with his supporters(in US supreme court appointment is for life , so in order to fill his appointees he wanted to increase the number of judges! smart move) and he passed lot of legislations that were later struck off by the Supreme Court(in US even after passing a law it can be challenged in Supreme Court)............... So the very popular president became a Dictator and people thought there should be a two term restriction for the President. So an amendment was introduced to US constitution to restrict that term of president to two.
In Sri Lanka we had two term restriction, but MR removed it from 18th amendment. Cant we see the similarity. Not only supreme court even CJ was impeached , filling of judges to Supreme Court and Court of Appeal was done against all conventions. Even minor judiciary (district judges and magistrates were not spared). MRs legislations could not be questioned in courts eg Divinaguma Bill...... Cant we learn from history (from US- if not a conspiracy only).......
Enough is enough . No one is indispensable in this world. MR should retire and new blood should be given a chance. Are we short of good people to govern .
