mate... I already have little bit more than Half of that amount saved !
Its all in government bonds in Dollars... so I am taxed less than the normal withholding taxation at around 8.5% ... but interest is added at 11.85% annually since we have put them in 10 year holdings. (this rate changes depending on the year I invested... i have some at 12%, some at 11.85% and some at 11% as well)
Your division is sort of messed up at 180 on the current rate mate ! ... since the amount is Dollars, the fluctuations doesnt effect me on the long run. Yes., it does on spot events such as right now... but this is a long run bro.. I would just keep the money till the $ rate goes down again before turning them into bonds
Even after say at 60, i take all the money and goto a private debenture scheme in sri lanka .... i would be able to get around 14% annually which in the simplest form would mean I would get 140,000/- US$ annually / 12 = 11,700 monthly x 181 at current rate = 2.2 Mil for a month !
so ... even if we put up a MAD depreciation rate by that time.. I would still make the equivalent of 500K of now and since I got my wife, that would be around 1 mil of equivalent.
Not a bad plan to be childless right?
