So byd can gain nothing from this. and in next few weeks ev prices & reservation fees will go up afaik. if byd funded npp, why would npp do that to byd?

dude, evs not cheap enough in SL. afaik, this govenment increased ev tax rate than it was used to be before the import ban. so this gov made it even difficult for ev sales.
EVs lower tax is a global thing. you're accusing like govenment reduced tax rate only for byd vehicles or cars imported by john keels. this is the tax rate for all evs including nissan, toyota, kia, hyundai, tata, (tesla, hummer ev - cause you can personal import these) etc. so your tax accusation is invalid. if it was true, what byd has done was, funded the govenment to reduce tax for all evs including it's competitors.
