What alternatives? Dude, SolidWorks is an industry standard. Alternatives are not the same thing. If you are doing mechanical engineering as a profession macOS is out of the equation. What is your profession?

Yeah he was ignorant and I can guess he is not using macOS but he was not totally wrong.

You need to buy the latest MATLab version (2020 up) to run it on the apple silicon. Good luck buying that Go ahead and say there are alternatives...
