I was also going to buy a 3D TV but gave up on the idea as 3D as home was not a concept that seemed to be catching up. Instead I went for an entry level 4K 55" smart tv. The model was JU6400 and I got it from takas.lk for 171000 (this was for an offer on HSBC credit cards). Now the same unit is priced Rs 185000.

Machan when you play a 1080p movie with a 4K TV, does the quality get degraded too noticeably when it scales?

Machan when you play a 1080p movie with a 4K TV, does the quality get degraded too noticeably when it scales?

No machan not at all. 1080p plays as crisp as ever. I dont think it scales 1080p to UHD resolution. 1080p plays in HD resolution, 4k content plays at 4K resolution.
