මොකක් හරි කියවද්දී අපි දන්නේ නැති වචනයක් තිබුනොත් එක select කරලා එක උඩ double click කරන්න. එතකොට එක තේරුම pop up එකක් එනවා. ගොඩක් වචන pronounce කරන විදියත් අහගන්න පුළුවන් එකේ තියෙන speaker icon එක click කරලා.
කස්ටියට මේක ටිකක් හරි උදව් වෙයි කියල හිතනවා

Additional note
'Ran into' could stand for several other meanings too. For example,
it can also mean 'to crash into or collide with'.
"The car ran into a tree."

Prologue
Louvre Museum, Paris
10:46 P.M.
Renowned curator Jacques Saunière staggered through the vaulted archway of the museum’s Grand Gallery. He lunged for the nearest painting he could see, a Caravaggio. Grabbing the gilded frame, the seventy-six-year-old man heaved the masterpiece towards himself until it tore from the wall and Saunière collapsed backward in a heap beneath the canvas.
As he had anticipated, a thundering iron gate fell nearby, barricading the entrance to the suite. The parquet floor shook. Far off, an alarm began to ring.
The curator lay a moment, gasping for breath, taking stock. I am still alive. He crawled out from under the canvas and scanned the cavernous space for someplace to hide.
Vocabulary
Renowned - famous
curator - head of a museum

heaved - move/lift with great effort
anticipated - expected
barricading - blocking
parquet - floor made up of wooden tiles
gasping - inhale huge amounts suddenly
cavernous - vast space/ area
Reading tips
- Most of the time we can understand the meaning meaning of a word from the other words used in the same sentence. (contextual meaning)
For example
He lunged for the nearest painting he could see
Eventhough we do not know the meaning of lunge, we can guess that it is something to do with running or reaching.
- Never refer the dictionary for a word unless you cannot guess the meaning. You won't be able to enjoy reading. (But it might be a good idea to write those words down for you to refer later)
Good morning guys. I thought of posting some that might be useful today. I believe reading can improve your English dramatically. So I thought of sharing an excerpt from one of my favourite novels, The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
I hope this was something useful to you. If you have any questions, please leave a comment or send me a private message. If I have made a mistake somewhere, please correct me.
