In Lebanon crisis started when people couldn't withdraw their foreign currency from their own accounts in local banks. We haven't gone to such levels. Still I believe it is better depositing currency in foreign bank like HSBC or any other internatioa; bank.

My money is in HSBC. But the problem is the savings account only gives a very small amount as interest every month.
for example if I have 2mil in LKR i will get 6000 per month (4% per annum). but if I have 2mil LKR as foreign currency I only get around 300LKR a month.

I have withdrawn my FD from HSBC, the reason is they renewed 15% FD to 4% after it matured. Another bank offered me 24% (a couple of months ago)

They put limit on even local currency :D

Following protests that started in 2019 because of the financial crisis, banks tightened limits on foreign currency withdrawals to $200 - $300 per week. And when the coronavirus pandemic began, cash withdrawal from those accounts were completely halted and a limit was set on local currency.

Give up on gains such as interests until debt restructuring thing gets settled. Keep assets outside banking cycles if possible. go for hard assets. Next best option going with PFCAs.
