No I do not own a hornet. Nor do I want one. Why would I want to buy a bike that honda discontinued and some jap rode for thousands of kilometres just because it's considered some kind of fashion statement here in SL.

Honda CBR250R would be good choice if you want to buy a 250 bike. Or the kawasaki balius II, don't know if they still make them though.
In japan there was a rule saying that novice riders can only ride bikes either equal to or less than 250cc. Honda and other japanese companies made 250cc bikes targeting them and as a first bike option for American novices.
Since the limitation for japanese riders were removed it seems honda makes the 250 bikes targeting the american market.
So my earlier statement still holds. 250s were designed as commuters and novice bikes.
And people here seems to consider the Hornet as a sports bike. But it falls under the category of naked bikes.
Whether they aren't considered commuters here doesn't matter. Because the company that made them designed them as such.
And if you want a sports bike, go buy the CBR250R or the kawasaki ninja 250R.
