cool ocing that q6600 is a monster great for ocing coz it's 45nm by da way try changing voltages that might help to increase stability in high oces

WTF !!! it's not 45nm machan... it's 65nm ;)

Dude you have serious image editing issues :lol::lol::lol:

So you decided to OC a bit? hmm.. I feel you could have gained a bit more.. that PI score should at least look 15nish.. anyway.. keep trying! :)

haha I didn't have any proper image editing tool, :D :D

you must compliment me for cropping n editing these images with ms paint :P

now i am not with kvr and i reached 15 sec bt not further, Im awaiting for a good cooling solution :(

Cooling yeah! well.. that does matters also.... But Vista pegs it back too!! :frown:

Oh! and for the editing problem... use Vista "Snipping Tool" ;)

How can I find the difference in the usage of Electricity when its OCed and not? Just want to know the amount of increase:)
Check from the power meter. How else????
I don't think you have a kill-a-watt meter with you :D

Yes I'm pretty sure Vista has a huge say in difference in SuperPI scores!

Probably because it runs more processes in the background than XP!

Old days i overclocked my pentium 3 550Mhz to 610Mhz to run delta force 2.It ran better with higher cpu clock.
Nowadays things are different. If you have a core 2 duo or quad running at 2.2, 2.4 or higher for allmost all games out their at precent do not require more cpu power.Because CPU is not the bottleneck here.It is GPU and the Vram bandwith. When AA is enabled performance drops significantly due to GPU power and Vram bandwidth.Half life 2 creator valve is just about to use the quad core power of the cpu.For other game engines dual core power is more than enough.Directx 11 claims support for multi cpu which is coming with windows 7.
If you are doing so many things at once like graphics rendering ,Unziping ,chatting, and broswing at same time then the more cpu power is requierd.
If you are not doing so many things at once 2.4 quad core is enough. But sure, it will not enough for future. So i am not overclocking my Cpu .But i overclock my GPU and VRAM if it is giving me bad performance for games

Yeah!!! I remember Win2k8 giving me 13.232s at 3.94GHz and Vista hardly managed to go below 14s at the same clocks.

Overclocking!!!
Guys it is possible to overclock E6600 to 3gig.E7200 to 3.5gig(you can pass these limits also)
E7*** is the best cpu for overclocking since it is fabricated with 45nm technology and uses 2 cores and 3mb cash.

Do you know how these default speeds are set for a perticular cpu.
Firstly for a raw cpu ,no of burning tests are performed. If it passes all the tests then its clock is increased. And another set of burning tests are performed. If it fails this time previuos speed is set for default. As for e7200 it is 5.53.if it passes again its clock is pushed further more.
When the yeild increases so many cpus can pass higher speed tests.
But for retain the market segment ,deliberatly they set lower clocks and higher clocks.
so E7200 ,E7300 can be identical(sure the core is same)

Well, then why does the E7300 overclock higher than E7200 generally, at the same Vcore?
