Now they are looking for cheap alternatives like Africa or more affordable south east asian countries. This is how the world economy & multi national open economy based companies work.

This is just utter bullshit

Nowadays even $1,000 is considered a huge salary in many standards, when working for a local employer. In addition to that rupee is depreciated as well.

And IFS is well know for paying a lower salary, relatively. People get into IFS, most of the time, cuz they value stability and chillax work rather than higher salary.

And Sri Lanka's still in dirt poor category as a country. Especially after the declaration of bankruptcy, inflation and doubling the percentage of population under the poverty line

The best explanation is the tax policies of Sri Lanka. Hence, they'd be hiring from India
