මාත් මගේ පළවෙනි ඉන්ටර්වියු එකට ගිහිං ඉස්සෙල්ලම ඇහුවේ පඩිය කීයද කියලා. පොර කෙලින්ම කිව්වා 85 000 යී කියලා. මං එදාම වැඩ බාර ගත්තා. කොහොම හරි මාසේ අන්තිමට දුන්නේ රු 15 000 යී. අහලා බලද්දී ඉන්ටර්වියු එක කරපු එකාගේ පඩිය මට එදා කියලා තියෙන්නේ.

When asked about my previous salary I always say "Sorry, I cannot disclose that information due to the agreement I have with my current company". Also when negotiating you should always give a salary range instead of an actual value. They will first settle for the lower end of the range. Then it is up to you to negotiate and increase the value to somewhere around middle within the range. Anyway you should give a satisfiable value as the lowest value so in that way you are not disappointed if you couldn't negotiated beyond the starting point.
