Correct. An IQ test isn't everything about a person. Even the inventors of the IQ test Binet & Simon in 1916 acknowledged that. From that time onwards the tests keep on being modified and used widely. For example, even the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is such a test.
One widely used IQ test is the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale III (WAIS-III). This measures the performance of an individual on a set of four mental abilities: verbal comprehension, processing speed, perceptual organization, and working memory.
However, some scientists still assert that the “Intelligence is what IQ tests measure”. Though I don't quite agree 100% on that, there is a relationship between the IQ test with the cognitive functioning of an individual.

Back to our situation in SriLanka - Quite often when I read the content that some write in this forum, I wonder whether programs like SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) is really justified and a waste of time. We should search for local intelligence first.
