Pissuda ban, You need to have a degree to get through the basic filters. The way I see it is each and every qualification/skill opens more doors.

The learnings are useless. I accept that. I did electronics and telecom but I never ever used what I learned all my career. But the degree+uni helped me get my first job (to some extent). after that it is always (n-1) i.e. just ask your previous job(s) details.

The thing is the degree is used to filter out people. Unless you are someone famous in the industry or have good connections without a degree is a bit difficult to get a job.

In that case does he need to stress out doing something like BIT.I mean what's the point spending 3-4 years just to enter the industry. If he really wants a part time degree qualifications there are much quicker ways.i heard now you can even buy the degree from a reputed UK university just like in Dubai.lol

degree is only good for you to get the first job, 10 years back it mattered what university and what class. Now they really don't care. If theres a company that acutally do look at them - run away. Best to do a degree part time (weekend/if possible) and do internships on weekdays.

once you start doing a job/internships you will know what kind of work you like in IT (networking/security/coding) and once you know what you like you can get some advanced certificates on them as you gain experience.

    Experience matters, degrees not.
