ugh its the same hardware today also...its not like they make a different GPU for Quadros...they r just a geforce with some tinkering to picture quality and so forth
I'm sure it's gonna stay in the range of 5-10% on a Radeon card.some how where ever you search you'll find that best video card for video play back is gonna be a Radeon cardAnusha said:No it won't. Did you check the other link I gave you? nVidia uses only a few %s higher. I'm sure it won't go below 15% on average.

Anusha said:There are many things that are available in the actual hardware, but disabled on Geforce cards for marketing. They can be unlocked with a driver softmod. Others are just... missing. In the Geforce 6 days, it was the same hardware.
Any proof that is has better picture quality?chanster said:The argument is not about soft modding. The Quadro has superior picture quality over the Geforce and that's all there is to it.

The difference is that qith
Quadro cards the driver unlocks several additional features like
antialiased lines which are useful or even mandatory for professional
applications but useless for general purpose applications and games.
Unlike common opinion Quadro cards are _not_ slower in games when using
the same driver settings like on a comparable Geforce card. But they
offer no benefit for games.
Another point is that Quadro cards are only made by PNY while Geforce
cards are made by several OEMs which leads to a huge variation in
product quality (cooler noise, analog image quality, durability). Quadro
cards for example usually have a very good analog signal quality which
even on huge CRTs produces clear and sharp pictures. Quadro cards also
are certified by several hardware and software vendors for compatibility
with certain systems and applications, and having a certified gfx card
together with a certified driver often is a prerequisite to get support
from your software vendor.
Well i did something similar with my old GF6200chanster said:Sorry, there are comparisons but they are very old. They compare the 7900s with the relevant quadros.
Hope that helps..Must try to convert a 8600GT to a Quadro one of these days. Thearotically it should improve the OpenGL rendering faster and better AA "picture quality" etc

Do you do hardware rendering in Maya for example?chanster said:Sorry, there are comparisons but they are very old. They compare the 7900s with the relevant quadros.

AFAIK, u need to render the particles in hardware and them merge with the other parts which are rendered in software.chanster said:The final frame rendered is totally handled by the CPU and Ram even if its hardware rendering or software rendering.(Correct me if im wrong). Just that you cant see the particle effects and some other effects in software rendering is it? The quality of that frame wont be better if you have a Quadro over a Geforce. Just that the Quadro will give better detail in viewport rendering and the image will be better in the viewport.

It's not a matter of "better", but more "accurate" when it comes to Quadro.
There are particles (at least in maya) that cannot be rendered as software. they have to rendered in hardware. a merging is required to make the full scene. i don't know why but that is a fact.fallenzeraphine said:The facts are
A. THe graphics card is only used to accelerate the GUI part of actually creating the CGI or what ever
B. CPU alwayz do the final rendering unless u use Nvidia Gelato related effectz

BTW I'm gonna meet somebody who is doing animation as a hobby on wednesday,a pro in sunday and tomorrow a guy practising it.So must ask them.Anyway use something like canopus procoder.Easy rendering from software.
